1. Introduction
Wovino ("Wovino", "we", "us") operates the wovino.ch marketplace. We are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG/nLPD) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we process it, and your rights.
2. Data controller

3. Data we collect
Account data: email address, name, language preference, phone number (optional), location (canton). We do not collect passwords — authentication is handled via one-time email codes.
Listing data: wine details, photos, pricing, condition, shipping preferences you provide when creating a listing.
Transaction data: bid amounts, purchase intents, order status, invoicing information.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, session identifiers, pages visited. Collected via essential cookies only — no tracking or advertising cookies.
4. How we use your data
To operate the marketplace: matching buyers and sellers, processing bids, generating invoices.
To communicate with you: sending OTP login codes, order notifications, and essential service messages.
To ensure trust and safety: listing moderation, fraud prevention, dispute resolution.
To improve the service: aggregated, anonymised analytics to understand usage patterns. No individual profiling.
5. Data sharing
With counterparties: when a transaction is confirmed, buyer and seller receive each other's name, email and phone. This is essential to the peer-to-peer model and is clearly communicated before any transaction.
With service providers: email delivery, hosting, payment processing (invoice only). All providers are Swiss or EU-based, bound by data processing agreements.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not use advertising networks or tracking pixels.
6. Data retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
Transaction and invoicing data is retained for 10 years as required by Swiss commercial law (OR Art. 958f).
OTP codes are automatically deleted after verification or expiry (10 minutes).
7. Your rights
You have the right to: access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion (right to be forgotten), request data portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time.

8. Cookies
Wovino uses only essential (strictly necessary) cookies: session management, CSRF protection, language preference, and age gate confirmation. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
