Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Overview
Wovino – Kevin Jordan Ryser, a sole proprietorship ("Wovino") with its registered office at Chemin du Cherrat 14, 1162 St-Prex, Switzerland (IDE: CHE-207.610.732), operates a peer-to-peer wine marketplace at wovino.ch. By using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Wovino acts solely as an intermediary — we connect buyers and sellers but do not own, store, ship, or handle wine. We do not process payments between parties.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Wovino. By signing in, you confirm you meet the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction.
3. Accounts
Accounts are created automatically when you first sign in with your email. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account, as it is the sole authentication method.
You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate others, or use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
4. Listings
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings: wine identity, condition, vintage, provenance, and photos. Misrepresentation may result in account suspension.
Wovino reserves the right to moderate, edit or remove any listing that violates these terms or our content guidelines.
5. Transactions
When a buyer commits to a purchase (fixed price) or wins an auction, the seller must confirm availability. Upon confirmation, both parties receive each other's contact details.
Payment, shipping and delivery are arranged directly between buyer and seller. Wovino is not a party to the sale contract and bears no liability for the condition of the wine, payment disputes, or shipping issues.
6. Auctions
Bids are binding. Proxy bidding is available: set a maximum and the system bids incrementally. A 5-minute extension is triggered by late bids to prevent sniping.
The seller may set a reserve price. If the reserve is not met, the seller is not obligated to sell.
7. Fees
Wovino charges the buyer a service fee of 8% of the agreed sale price. The fee is invoiced after the order is marked complete.
Invoices are payable within 30 days by bank transfer to Wovino. Late payments may incur statutory interest.
Listing is free for sellers. There are no subscription fees, no premium placements, and no advertising charges.
8. Privacy of contact details
Seller email and phone are never visible to buyers until a transaction is confirmed. This is a core privacy feature of the platform and cannot be circumvented.
Users who attempt to solicit personal information outside of confirmed transactions may have their accounts suspended.
9. Disputes
Either party may open a dispute through the platform. Wovino's community team will review and mediate. Wovino's decision on disputes is advisory, not legally binding.
For unresolved disputes, Swiss law applies and the courts of St-Prex have exclusive jurisdiction.
10. Limitation of liability
Wovino provides the platform "as is". We do not guarantee the authenticity, condition, or provenance of any wine listed. We are not liable for losses arising from transactions between users.
Our total liability is limited to the service fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is St-Prex, Switzerland.
